XDPS-400 uses optical fiber as the communication medium and is designed in the form of double loops, which fundamentally overcomes the inherent deficiencies of coaxial cables. This kind of ring network is a kind of virtual ring network, that is, it is a ring network logic bus physically, and has the function of network self-healing. The computer interface system and the distributed processing unit all use the same communication medium and communication protocol (TCP/IP), which makes the communication hardware and software very simple and clear, and also makes the expansion of the system very easy. 2. Comparison of modules The modules in the PROCONTROL-P14 system are not divided into main modules and sub-modules, and there are no input modules and output modules. Relatively speaking, the types of modules in this system are less. The function and versatility of the module are strong. However, because the PROCONTROL-P system is a combination of P13 and P14, there are more communication modules between the two systems, so in general, there are more modules than INFI-90 and XDPS-400. The types of modules of the XDPS-400 system should be very few if the special modules of the DEH/MEH system are removed, especially the whole system has only one communication interface module, which is enough to show its high degree of integration. The reduction of the corresponding spare parts types is also reduced. In addition, because the XDPS-400 system realizes the way that the system directly drives the field equipment, some intermediate relay cabinets and extended relay cabinets are omitted, the system structure is simplified, and the unit investment is saved.
