Ultrasonic flowmeter pipeline installation requirements

An ultrasonic flowmeter consists of two parts: a sensor and a converter. It works based on Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction and is used to measure the volume flow of conductive liquids with a conductivity greater than 5μS/cm. It is an inductive instrument for measuring the volume flow of conductive media. In addition to measuring the volume flow of general conductive liquids, it can also be used to measure the volume flow of strong corrosive liquids such as strong acids and alkalis, and uniform liquid-solid two-phase suspension liquids such as mud, ore pulp, and paper pulp. It is widely used in the flow metering of kerosene, chemical industry, metallurgy, light textile, papermaking, environmental protection, food and other industries and municipal management, water conservancy construction, river dredging and other fields. 1. Selection of installation location In order to make the flowmeter work reliably and stably, the following requirements should be paid attention to when selecting the installation location: (1) Try to avoid magnetic objects and equipment with strong electromagnetic fields (such as large motors, large transformers, etc.), In order to prevent the magnetic field from affecting the working magnetic field and flow signal of the sensor. ⑵ It should be placed in a dry and ventilated place as much as possible, and it is not suitable to be placed in a humid place where water is easy to accumulate. (3) Avoid exposure to the sun and rain as much as possible, and avoid ambient temperatures above 60°C and relative humidity above 95%. ⑷ Choose a place that is convenient for after-sales and convenient for behavior. ⑸ The flow meter should be placed at the back end of the pump, never on the suction side; the valve should be placed on the downstream side of the flow rate. 2. Selection of installation pipeline position In order to make the flowmeter work reliably and stably, the following requirements should be paid attention to when selecting the pipeline installation location: ⑴ The sensor can be installed on a vertical pipeline, a horizontal pipeline or an inclined pipeline, but the central connection between the two electrodes is required. The line is horizontal. ⑵ When the electromagnetic flowmeter is working, it is always required that the measuring tube is filled with the measured medium. When installing horizontally, in order to ensure this, the elevation of the sensor installation position can be slightly lower than the elevation of the pipeline if necessary, as shown in Figure 4-6, or the downstream of the sensor has sufficient back pressure. ⑶ For liquid-solid two-phase fluid, it is best to adopt vertical installation to make the lining of the sensor wear evenly and prolong the service life. ⑷ Regardless of whether it is installed horizontally or vertically, in order not to affect the production and facilitate the after-sales disassembly and assembly of the instrument, the sensor should be installed in parallel with the original main process pipeline (bypass pipe) as much as possible on the process pipeline that is manufactured continuously. Fluids that should be flushed frequently if there is serious contamination. Figure 4-9 is an example of placement for online flushing without removing the sensor. ⑸ The length of the straight pipe section should preferably be ≥10DN at the front of the flowmeter and ≥5DN at the rear end.
