We know that gas has strong compressibility. When the water pressure increases, the air is squeezed by the water flow at the high points of the pipes or water appliances to form compressed gas. At this time, the water pressure and the air pressure are equal and in balance; When the pressure decreases, the air pressure is greater than the water pressure, and the compressed gas expands, pushing the water to flow back, and so on, thereby generating the water flow movement and driving the impeller to rotate. For most water meters, the number of forward rotations is greater than the number of reverse rotations, and the gas is highly compressible. If there is air in the pipeline behind the meter, the expansion and contraction space will be large due to the fluctuation of water pressure. The amount of water produced by this is relatively large; when the adjacent users use water frequently, the amount of extra water produced is as little as (2-3) m3 per month, and as large as ten cubic meters. In fact, there are many situations that cause air stagnation in the pipeline. For example, a large amount of gas will be dissolved in the production and water supply process of tap water. At the same time, in the pipeline maintenance construction, the replacement of the water meter and the transformation of the pipeline will also bring in the gas. There will also be gas left in the pipe network in the area where the water is cut off, as well as in the solar water heater and the end of the pipe. Measures: 1. Install a check valve In order to prevent the impact of water pressure fluctuations on the measurement of the water meter, installing a one-way check valve in front of the meter can prevent the backflow of water. When the water pressure in front of the meter is greater than the pressure behind the meter, the water behind the meter is compressed, and the water meter rotates forward; when the water pressure in front of the meter drops, the check valve is automatically closed under the action of the pressure behind the meter, and the water meter does not rotate. ; When the water pressure in front of the meter rises again, as long as the pressure does not exceed the pressure behind the check valve, the water meter will not turn again. Therefore, installing a one-way check valve can reduce the frequency of water meter rotation, and can also solve the problem of abnormal water meter measurement caused by water pressure fluctuations. 2. Evacuate the air in the pipe. Since the air in the pipe has a great influence on the measurement of the water meter, it is necessary to exhaust the household meter of the newly installed or modified pipe.
